Numbers, dates, times, money, and ages
- Spell out "one"; use numerals from 2 upward (except inside a numbered step or list point, where a numeral usually reads better).
- Add a comma to numerals over 999 (9,000).
- Money: use the currency symbol against the figure (£75); avoid decimals unless pence or cents are involved (£75.50, not £75.00).
- Dates: capitalise the month, no comma between month and year ("4 June 2017"), and use "to" for ranges ("10 to 21 December").
- Times: use "to" for ranges ("10am to 11am"), and write "midnight"/"midday" rather than "00:00"/"12pm".
- Ages: spell out who's included ("aged 50 and over") rather than using shorthand ("the over 50s").
